My personal experiment in web 2.0
Today I am making the McKayPost available on line to a select group of people. The blog is still in it's very early pre-beta stage, and there will be much, much more to come in the near future. I plan to spend some time on this project over the upcoming holiday weekend, and will devote time to it in the early mornings, or late at night, and whenever I'm not too busy with my full time job as the founder and CEO of a small commercial financial services firm in New York.
The idea for this site has been floating around in my mind for a while, ever since I discovered, and started reading some of the really good, quality blogs out there which I will be including in my blog roll, and the more I explore the possibilities of web 2.0, the more I find the whole process to be fun and exciting.
So What will this be about? First it will be a sounding board for me. It will be a place to write about the things that matter to me and even let off a little steam from time to time (I will try to do this in a way that will not offend anyone, but rather, hopefully, will inspire intelligent thought and dialog, and examples of such writings can be found throughout the blog). It will be about the problems we as a society and as a nation face while we grow and evolve at an ever increasing rate, and it will be about solutions, as I see them. I intend to include my personal reviews (restaurants, music, gadgets, movies, etc.), and will be including some of the photographs I take as a hobby as well. To sum it up, this blog will be a little bit business, a little bit politics, a little bit personal, and a little bit fun.
Extensive linking:
I want the blog to be a true treasure trove of information and resources, and will do my best to add new, interesting links on a regular basis. There will be advertising as well (I am working all that out now), but only products and services that I personally endorse will appear on the McKayPost.
Read some early posts:
I recently returned from a wonderful, well deserved vacation, and one of the first things I did was to throw out a few posts to test out the system. You can read them below. They are both of a very serious nature, but rest assured, there will be a good mix of subjects and plenty of lighter, positive stuff in future posts as well.
Please remember that the site is not public yet. This is just a taste of what is to come, so don't be too harsh when judging what you see and read.
One of the nice things about blogs besides their interactiveness, is that they are a work in progress, constantly growing and changing, and this one will be no exception.
Thanks for reading. Check out the posts below, and I hope you keep coming back!
